Lovely to Meet You!

We are Randy and Adalee Hude, a husband and wife team who felt called to start this tiny publishing company, Ave Lamb Books. Both of us are cradle Catholics, although each of us experienced a deepening of faith only as adults. We reside in the Pacific Northwest, a little outside of Portland, OR. We have two young and precious children, both adopted, and we love being parents. It is largely due to their influence that we started creating books together- books that we wanted to read to them, and books they would want us to read to them! We are squeezing in Ave Lamb Books into the margins of our family life. But this is what God has called us to fill those extra moments with, so we hope that you and your family will be blessed by what we do.

About Randy

Randy is a native Tennessean who has had a few different “vocations” you might say over the decades. After giving up on a pursuit to become a professor of English literature post-M.A., Randy went back to school on a pre-med curriculum and became a pharmacist. A job opportunity brought him to the Pacific Northwest many years ago. Currently, he works for a small engineering and tool design company. Randy always relishes reading to our son and opined to Adalee that more fun to read but still edifying Catholic books ought be made. Suggestion made, new venture started.

Adalee Hude is a happy wife, mother, illustrator and author of Catholic children's books. Fueled largely by prayer and coffee, she has done artwork for Catholic magazines, stickers, and prayer journals as well. Her own books include Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus: An Introductory Latin Missal for Children, and Light of Heaven: A Children’s Book of Saints. Adalee also has a Substack newsletter called A Brightly Hude Life. She runs Brightly Hude Studio when she's not running around with kids. Baking is her love language!
